A History of Violence

The swimming outing was changed to a movie outing as we were quite lazy to exercise and there wasn't much sun for us to tan. We decided to watch the movie A History of Violence as Straits Times had rated it a cool 5 stars. The show is about an ordinary father who becomes a hero after fending off 2 criminals from his restaurant. After the press exposed his photos, several guys from the mafia began to threaten his family. Its direction is deft and the acting by Viggo Mortensen and Maria Bello is great. This show is an allegory on violence and it depicts the terrors of a school bully as well as adults who murder without batting an eyelid. Quite a good movie despite having a slightly unrealistic plot.
After the movie, Edwin, Clarence and i then met up with Ade, Shirley, Meibin and Derrick for dinner at Heeren Marche. I was fidgeting with Ade's Panasonic Lumix LS1 and its anti-shake function is really quite effective. Was shaking up and down while taking shots and the pictures were still clear.
After having our dinner, we spent some time walking along orchard road and taking some more pictures with the christmas lightings in the background. The gals then headed to Zouk for mambo night while the rest of us continued to hang out in orchard window shopping and eating more food before heading back home.
