Went out with my jc gang to get a birthday gift for Gs. Jim, Clarence and i went for K-lunch from 11 am to 2.45 pm, and Derrick and Edwin joined us to shop for the present after the ktv session. We discussed what to buy while having lunch and headed to various shopping centres before finally purchasing an item (undisclosed as he might be reading).

We then decided on watching Merry Christmas at 9.10 pm and had lots of time to spare. Derrick fetched us to bugis for dinner next and we decided on a korean restaurant along Liang Seah Street. The chopsticks are made of metal and they are flat and heavy. Its quite difficult to pick up food using them for first timers like me. We ordered a pork steamboat, BBQ beef and chicken with the compulsory side dishes like kimchi and ikan bilis.

The steamboat soup is surprisingly not spicy and we ate for around an hour before getting back to cineleisure for our movie.

Merry Christmas is a World War I movie which focuses on the front lines between the French and Scottish troops, and the German troops during the Christmas period. On Christmas Eve, music and songs brought down the hostility and the troops from 3 different countries began to celebrate the festive season together. This movie is based on a true story and it is nominated for this year's Golden Globes Best Foreign Film. It somehow falls short of my expectations as the pace sags in the first quarter of the movie, the emotional aspect of the troops could have been more effective brought out and the characters are not very well developed. Nevertheless, it is quite an interesting movie to watch as we get to see soldiers bonding instead of fighting.

I'm spending too much money! Spent more than $50 on ktv, present, lunch, restaurant and movie today. :(
