We walked to De Burcht. The Burcht is built on a man-made mound, created between 800 and 1150, probably to protect people from floods.
De Burcht
Climbing up the stairs
Nice view from the fortress (Hooglandse Kerk)
Love this picture
Too bad the view cannot be captured together with people
Some trees are obstructing the view
View of Stadhuis
Inside the fortress
De Burcht
We decided to visit some museums next and walked over to Rijksmuseum van Oudheden (National Museum of Antiquities).
The back view of Stadhuis is nicer
Outside the entrance
Interesting building facade
Buildings
Aesthetically quite a nice building (part of the university)
Van der Werfpark
The main University building
Vehicles line the canal
Pieterskerk
For whom the bell tolls (Ernest Hemingway)
You all must be sick of these canal shots
Reached Rijksmuseum van Oudheden
