Amsterdam Day Trip (Day 5, 29 Jan 08, Tue) (Part 1)
>> Tuesday, February 05, 2008
It was a gloomy day and the sky was overcast (bad day for photo-taking). We proceeded with our plans to go Amsterdam anyway and the return train ticket costs 20.20 euro. We should have gotten our discount card earlier as each of us would have saved 40% of the ticket price. Anyway, we sat on the 1 hour train ride there.
Amsterdam Centraal Station
We were at Burger King having our breakfast and were waiting for the free tour which starts at 11 am. We thought that it is beside the tourist information center inside the train station but it is the one outside and went out to look for it. However, we were too late and decided to tour on our own. I was rather annoyed that my original plan went awry and i suddenly had to think of other things to do.
By the way, Amsterdam has slightly colder winter compared to Delft. We walked along the main streets in the old district to see the popular tourist attractions.

Walking along the alleys
I think we stumbled into the red light district by accident as the road is near the Centraal Station. Anyway, there wasn't much to see in the day as many shops there were closed in the day.
