Vietnam Day 9: Perfume Pagoda (Part 2)

>> Wednesday, January 09, 2008

After the boat ride which took about 30 minutes, we docked at a place selling drinks and food.

Back on land

We waited for the rest of our group to arrive and then headed up the slope leading to Perfume Pagoda.

Going up

We were given a choice to either trek upwards or take a cable car ride and the 3 of us plus 2 women from Venezuela and UK decided to trek upwards while the majority took a cable car up the hill. There is an additional charge of US$2 for the cable car ride as it is not included in the package.

Monument

Walls of a temple

Stall selling fruits and drinks to tourists

Climbing up

I'm the leader of the pack!

Passed by another pagoda

View of the cable car

Numerous steps

Another temple

Higher and higher (we were all drenched in perspiration)

Passing by a souvenir stall

The hilly region

The trek upwards was gruelling and the 2 woman almost couldn't take it. They had to take several breaks during the intensive 50 minutes trek.

To be continued...

End of Part 2 (11.30 am to 12.45 pm)
