Exercise and Entertainment

>> Friday, January 04, 2008

Went back to school today for badminton with Gs, Terence and Edwin. We had planned to swim after badminton but decided to run instead as the weather was very cooling. Finally doing some exercise after so many months.

Watched Mission Sex Control (don't be mistaken, it is not a porn film) at AMK hub next as we thought that it would be another funny Korean comedy. It turned out otherwise and it is actually a bit like a Korean soap drama.

"In 1971, birth control was a major policy drive of the Korean government but one poor farming village went against the trend, boasting the highest fertility rate in the country. Peaceful Yongdu receives an unwelcome visitor, the national family planning officer, Hyun-joo, to oversee the villagers' nocturnal pleasures. However as a single lady with little experience of her own, she finds it impossible persuade the residents to use contraception. With help from the village head, Suk-gu, they begin the '0% Birth Rate Project'." Extracted from Yahoo movies

This movie is not really humourous and the choice of topic saved the movie from boredom in this conservative society. The story is likeable with the doe-eyed pretty young lady who meets many difficulties and challenges with spreading the use of birth control and family planning to the villagers. Likeable isn't enough and the movie seems more like an extended tv serial than a feature film.
