Welcome to 2007

>> Monday, January 01, 2007

Luckily, there is still 1 week to enjoy after the countdown to 2007.

I went out for a ktv session with Minhui at Cineleisure as i haven't met up with her for a year. We then went to Urban Warehouse and Heeren for some window shopping and had some food before we left. The police had set up barricades to block pedestrains from the roads and the number of people in Orchard area was already a lot at 5 pm. I would never spend my New Year Eve or any other festive seasons squeezing around with people, pushing people, getting sprayed with confetti by others, moving around at crawling speeds, etc. That's a definite no-no for me.

I rested for about 1-2 hours at home before heading back out for a New Year Eve gathering with my JC friends. There was a poor turn-out this year due to exchange programs and more people who had other programs. Kit Wing is still in Japan for her exchange while Clarence and Meibin had just arrived in US for their exchange programs. Thus, there were 5 people present for the gathering and we met up at Serangoon Gardens for dinner. There are so many restaurants, hawker centres and small eateries there and we were definitely spoiled for choices. We finally decided to hve dinner at Yuen Yang, a HK-Macau restaurant with rather nice interior deco and affordable prices.

The food was not bad although i would have preferred a larger serving. We then headed back to Edwin's house for some games and movies while waiting for the countdown. The 5 of us played soccer on PS2 as there were a lot of controllers available. It was rather messy and disorganised with 5 different players but we had a fun time playing the game although i was definitely the lousiest player among all.

We then tuned in to Channel 5 to watch the countdown and it's 2007 at the turn of midnight. We contemplated on what to do next and decided to watch a dvd movie, Jackass: Number 2. The movie is more like a compilation of many various crazy stunts and antics not meant for the squeamish viewers. Some stunts are designed to scare or shock people and we were laughing like nobody's business during some parts of the movie. Some of the stunts are really creative and while some are crude, some are lame, and some are plain stupid. Still we enjoyed watching the movie and proceeded to Jackass: The Movie which was the original prequel to the one we just watched. After watching halfway through the movie, we felt quite hungry and decided to go for supper. We headed to Upper Serangoon Road for supper. We satisfied our cravings for food and left for home after that. Slept at around 6.30 am and just woke up at 5.15 pm today.

Happy New Year's Day to Everyone!
