We reached Penha Church and took a number of photos there.

After viewing the scenery for some time, we then walked briskly down the hill and went to Macau Sky Tower. There is a lake blocking our path and we have to make a huge detour around the lake. We took 30 minutes to walk from Penha Church to the sky tower.

Macau Tower Convention Centre

We entered the convention centre but there is not much to see or buy inside. There are only a few restaurants and retail outlets. We spent only 10 minutes inside and left via cab back to our hotel as we have to check out by 12 noon.

Rested in our hotel room for 20 minutes before checking out and getting back our deposit. We then took the hotel shuttle bus to the ferry terminal.

We bought the 1 pm ferry tickets to Hong Kong (Kowloon) which costs 140 HKG dollars ($28).

Our hydrofoil ferry

The seats are quite comfortable and we all slept almost all the way until we reached the Kowloon ferry terminal at HabourCity. We asked the information counter for advice on how to go to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR before heading there.

We then bought octopus card (Singapore is Ez-link card) with stored value inside and headed to Mongkok as the hostel we booked is near the MTR. After checking the map, we headed to Sincere House, a shopping centre with many apartments in the upper levels.

When we checked in, we discovered an enormously embarrassing error in our booking. We had accidentally booked one of the 2 rooms in another hostel. Luckily, we paid only 10% of the fees for the online booking and there were still triple rooms available in the hostel.

Our hostel room

We unloaded our luggages and headed downstairs for lunch. We went to the nearest eatery for food as it was around 4 pm and we have not ate anything since breakfast. We then headed to the numerous shopping streets nearby. There are so many "cha chan ting", shops selling snacks and food along the streets near our hostel. We headed to Tung Choi St first where the goldfish market is located. There are a lot of pets like mice, fishes, guinea pigs, etc sold there. We then headed to Fa Yuen Street where Fa Yuen Street Market is located. We did not buy anything as it was the first day and we can spend the last few days shopping.

Sportswear Street was next and there are so many shops selling sports apparel. We went Sai Yueng Choi St South next and it is a very busy street with so many people walking around.

We went to a food court to 'see see look look' and it has a modern and nice feel to it.

Due to the number of people there, we decided to have our dinner after we fetched Shiqi from the airport. We headed to Hong Kong Airport by bus A21 along Nathan Rd and the bus fare is a whopping HKG 33 ($6.60). Shiqi has just left Vancouver from her overseas intern there and she is transiting in Hong Kong for 5 days.

We reached Hong Kong Airport after 35 minutes and it is huge and feels brand new.

Shiqi arrived earlier than the stated timing and she had been waiting for us for half an hour. We all then helped her transport her massive luggages back to the hostel.

We then had our late dinner at a nearby eatery before heading back at 11 pm. Going Shenzhen tomorrow!

End of Part 2 (10.30 am to 11 pm)
