Asian Aerospace!

Met up with my aerospace coursemates at bedok bus interchange and we headed to Changi International Exhibition and Convention Centre. The aerial display is at 11.30 am and we waited for a while by the sea to view the aeroplanes flying and performing stunts.
People viewing the aerial stunts
There were not a lot of planes performing stunts and we were quite bored with the aerial display which lasted for around an hour. We had to wait nearly 5 minutes between each aerial flight display as well.
I guess it is because we went on a trade day and the aerial display is not as important except during the 2 days Asian Aerospace is open to the public (25th & 26th Feb). The last segment was SIA's A380 flying around and circling the skies above in its monstrous size.
SIA's world first A380
After that, we went into Changi International Exhibition & Convention Centre for the exhibits show. There were many people around and most people were adults wearing suits and business coats. The exhibition hall was much bigger than the Langkawi Air Show which i attended last December.
Before we went inside
We split into groups and walked around the human-packed area looking at the exhibits, displays, video programmes and airplane models. Took quite a lot of photos together.

Next, we had our lunch at an area outside the exhibition hall which was rather hot and humid. The price of the food was very expensive as well and 2 of my friends paid $7 for their lunch which could have been much cheaper if it was sold at a different place.
We then headed to a few other exhibition halls and went to view the static aircraft display at a large open space outside. Took photos of each aircraft and headed to queue for a bus which takes us to see the large aircraft display. There were only 3 huge airplanes on display and we took a group photo together.
Underneath the hot sun
After spending more than 1 hour under the seering heat, most of us had slight sunburn on our faces. We went back into the exhibition halls and walked around taking our last view of the exhibits before leaving.
We walked all the way to Changi Village to have our dinner and took a long bus ride to Tampines. Most of us were exhausted as we had spent the entire day walking and we all woke up very early.
I reached home at 7.30 pm and rested for almost an hour before going out again to watch Syriana with Daryl at Causeway Point.
Syriana is an ambitious movie that attempts to enlighten viewers of the politics of the oil companies in US, the transnational bribes and manipulations, the growing trend of terrorism in the Middle East, the brainwashing and recruitment of suicide bombers, the assassination of potential threats to the US economy, etc.......
The stories of an assassin, a financial advisor, a suicide bomber, a puppet Emir and managers of Connex-Killen oil company serve as a contemporary warning to the ignorant. Oil (money) is the root of all evil as dark secrets are unfolded with the impending merger of Connex and Killen. This movie is extremely relevant in our present times and it is also very complicated with the amount of things it wants to tell.
It is serious and compelling storytelling which demands our attention and brain cells. The movie is too intelligent for its own good and it advances faster than the speed my brain can process. The filmmakers are dedicated in empowering audiences with sociopolitical relevance as well as confusing audiences with the numerous characters and extremely detailed script.
Good acting by the experienced cast though. Admirable effort by the director cum screenwriter, Stephen Gaghan.
