Oceans Thirteen

Watched Oceans Thirteen with Daryl at The Cathay in the evening after we had our dinner. Met up with Stephen after the movie and we went to Wala Wala at Holland V to chill out. We originally wanted to go Timbre as the live band sounds really good there but after waiting for 15 mins and the long queue hasn't moved one bit, we decided to change the location. It was a very long time since i went to a pub and it reminded me of my Cambodia trip which we went pubbing many nights. Sent Stephen back at 2 plus in the morning.

Ok back to the movie review of Oceans Thirteen. I did enjoy the movie and it is definitely better than the lacklustre Oceans Twelve.

The rat pack has reunited again for the final stunt except now there is no heist of cash. One of the members of the rat pack, Reuben, has been conned by a ruthless casino owner and the group decides to stir things up during his new casino's opening day. First, they plan meticulously and they always look so slick, cool and suave. Next, they implement their plans and the fun and cheekiness goes into overdrive. They mistreat an identified 'anonymous' hotel reviewer and it's incredibly funny to see the laughable state he became. Also, they send 'workers' to Mexico for addition of some substances in the manufacturing of dices which ends up in a strike. Also, Matt Damon does a brilliant and incredibly funny job of seducing the casino owner's wife, Ellen Barkin (who does a great job as well). There are many other funny sequences during the movie and i enjoyed my time watching it.

Hilarious, fun, entertaining, slick and cool, this movie gets the first prize among all the 3rd parters (Shrek 3, Spidey 3, Pirates 3) for sure.

***1/2
