Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Watched F4 at The Cathay with Aaron and Qy today. The show is typical Hollywood fare and it's all predictable and formula.

The show is about Mr Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing collaborating with ex-enemy, Doctor Doom, to save the world from total destruction. Sounds familiar? Sounds cliche? I would agree to both the questions. Galactus will be destroying Earth soon with the help of the Silver Surfer who surfs around the world causing blackouts and hailstorms.

Thankfully, the special effects are rather good and it remains entertaining despite the shallow story and hollow characters. There is almost zero chemistry between Jessica Alba and Ioan Gruffudd, ie. Invisible Woman and Mr Fantastic, and the only person with charisma is definitely the Human Torch.

This show is watchable, but forgetable. Give me X-Men anytime and i'll be a happier man.
