QY's Birthday Celebration

>> Wednesday, December 17, 2008

Went out with my uni friends to celebrate QY's 24th birthday. We watch Bolt 3D and had dinner next at Mad Jack. Played several rounds of pool after dinner.

Now to the review of Bolt 3D. I think the new 3D glasses are an advancement over the previous 3D technology. The visuals are enhanced and the colours were not compromised. We have to return the 3D glasses after the show ended. The problem is whether the enhancement in visuals will justify the higher price of the 3D movie ($10), opposed to the normal digital format with the cheaper weekday price of $6.

For super-dog Bolt, every day is filled with adventure, danger and intrigue—at least until the cameras stop rolling. When the star of a hit TV show is accidentally shipped from his Hollywood soundstage to New York City, he begins his biggest adventure yet—a cross-country journey through the real world to get back to his owner and co-star, Penny. Armed only with the delusions that all his amazing feats and powers are real, and the help of two unlikely traveling companions—a jaded, abandoned housecat named Mittens and a TV-obsessed hamster named Rhino -- Bolt discovers he doesn’t need superpowers to be a hero. Extracted from RT.

Bolt is a very likable movie with the heartwarming characters of Penny and the uber-cute dog named Bolt. The over-enthusiastic hamster Rhino and the weary but wise Mittens add life to the cast as well. The staged tv programme is exciting with many action sequences and the story engaging with a simple story of loyalty and family. The movie is entertaining and it is great family fun for the young and the old. Another nice animation from Disney.
