Krakow + Antwerp Trip Day 2 (20 Apr 08) (Part 4)

Continuing the tour of Wieliczka Salt Mine, we proceeded to the largest chamber in the salt mine. The large chamber with walls were carved to resemble wooden chapels built by miners in earlier centuries. The mine is often referred to as "the Underground Salt Cathedral of Poland."

Some of the passageways were collapsed

Gifts and souvenirs at the gift shop

A quaint and cosy chapel

The small lift that brought us back up to ground level

We then took the minibus back to Krakow from Wieliczka. An interesting tour of Wieliczka Salt Mine indeed.
