The Week In Review

Mon 29 May

Touched down in Singapore and went for breakfast with my parents in Bukit Panjang. Spent the rest of the day resting.

Tue 30 May

Went to Junming and Junhui's condo as i had to return them the money i borrowed from them in NZ and to transfer out 4.7 gb of photos and videos that we all took. Had supper with my jc gang at Adam Road Food Centre next.

Wed 31 May

Watched Over The Hedge with Daryl at Westmall. This Dreamworks animation is boisterous and full of lifely characters. The story is about RJ, a greedy raccoon, who has to find food for Vincent, a slothful bear, as he has wrecked Vincent's food supply. RJ stumbles upon a group of animals and persuades them to go over the hedge to gather food. It is a good family film as it teaches family love and moral values. Although the plot is formulaic and predictable, the storytelling is rather engaging and entertaining. What it does not have is Shrek's emotional depth and Madagascar's riotous wackiness. Screentime is minimal at 87 mins including credits.


Met up with Ks after that to go Sim Lim Square. Joined my jc classmates at NUS to discuss and reserve hotel rooms for the Taiwan trip next.

Thu 1 Jun

Went swimming at CCK swimming complex with Jim and Gs in the afternoon. There is a tubed slider, wave pool and jacuzzi there. We spent some time in the wave pool and in the jacuzzi to avoid the pouring rain. Gs and i went PC show next and we helped Jim get his Samsung laser printer for only $99. A real good bargain.

Slacked the whole day at home.

Sat 3 Jun

Went ktv with Ks at Cineleisure from 11 am to 2 pm. I met up with my jc friends later on and we went PC Show again as Terence wanted to see the price of the memory stick pro duo and Gs was considering the laser printer. We then walked over to Beach Road opposite Shaw Centre to have steamboat.


Sun 4 Jun

Went out with my jc friends again to join Jimmy for his river cleaning boat trip.

It is a very sunny day and we spent around 2 hours in the boat while 1 hour was spent pushing it out to sea and cleaning the boats when we came back from the litter picking trip. There are fishing nets and we used them to catch plastic bags, styrofoam cups, aluminium cans, etc. It is quite a fun experience and my arms are red from the searing sunshine.

We had lunch at the army market hawker centre next and Shiqi got a backpack from army market. We headed to Marina Square to walk around for a while before heading back.

I'll be having reservist from 5 to 9 June at Tanjong Gul camp. Spent 3 hours finding my army stuff and packing them before i leave early in the morning tomorrow. Back on friday!
